By creating label designs that incorporated the jazz era photographs of an accompanying nostalgia-based advertising campaign and by also stylistically reflecting the era depicted, a strong tie was made in the mind of the consumer between advertisement and shelf. Initially conceived as a single bottle promotion, upon presentation of multiple successful designs, the client decided to extend the promotion into a series. In 1991, this project was featured in the Communication Arts Design Annual and received a Clio Award for Packaging.
