These are two samples from a series of advertisements celebrating the Odyssey radio show becoming part of Public Radio International. Each pair of advertisements appeared on the far left and far right of a newspaper spread. This placement requires the reader to make the visual leap that corresponds to the mental leaps required by this intellectually challenging program. Each advertisement and its headline made sense individually, but the larger headline copy of both advertisements could also be read together, thereby adding another layer of meaning to the message.
