Wherein We Have an Adventure depicts the exploration of a place that can be somewhat frightening without actually showing the place itself. It is experiential not expository, depicting what it is like to get lost in the woods. It uses literature as an underlying structure to help the reader understand the experience, utilizing excerpts from Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and text from the website, Ranger Outdoor Survival Skills (survivaloutdoorskills.com) by Army Ranger Rick. It is a codex, but it has no beginning or end, it can be viewed in the round, in any order, thus referencing the feeling of being lost in the woods.
